Kirkus star

by Carola Dunn

Far be it from me to blow my own trumpet, but I've just heard that GONE WEST, the twentieth Daisy Dalrymple mystery, has a starred review in Kirkus. Probably shouldn't post it as it's not actually been published yet, neither the review (11/6) nor the book (1/17), but here's the nice bit:

"Dunn...adds another winner to a long string of charming mysteries evocative of the period between the Great Wars."

And here, since I haven't time to write anything except my overdue ms, are some pics of the setting I should be writing about at this moment: the small town of Launceston in North Cornwall.

The church of St Mary Magdalene16th century, with the tower of the 14th century church of the same name. It's built of Cornish granit and practically every inch of the exterior is carved
The Market Square, with War Memorial

The Guildhall, seen through the entrance arch of the ruined castle

It is a great cover. The car in the background is Daisy's car, a 1925 Gwynne Eight.
